The Townes at Deer Springs

Customer care

Standing behind homes
for 50 years.

Honeyfield is the Simcoe County builder known for after-close service. The 21-day appointment, 11-month appointment, and Honey-Do service list are how Honeyfield has operated since 1976 — over-and-above Tarion.

Three practices

What Honeyfield does that most builders don't.

01

21-day appointment

Within three weeks of your closing, Honeyfield comes back.

The 21-day appointment is Honeyfield's first scheduled return after possession. A member of the Honeyfield service team walks the home with the new owner, confirms that each system is operating as expected, and documents anything that isn't. It's an industry-rare commitment — most builders in Simcoe County and across Southern Ontario start their post-close relationship at the Tarion 30-day form and treat the rest as homeowner-initiated. Honeyfield reverses that: the appointment is scheduled in advance, confirmed by the service team, and the walk-through is the builder's responsibility.

Why it matters

In a new build, the first three weeks are when small misses surface — a sticking door, a baseboard gap, grout that didn't cure flat. Catching them in week three means they're fixed under the builder warranty, not deferred into the 11-month cycle or absorbed by the homeowner.

02

11-month appointment

Before the first-year warranty closes, Honeyfield comes back again.

The 11-month appointment lands one month before the Tarion one-year warranty window expires. Honeyfield's service team returns to the home and systematically checks the items that typically present wear in the first year — settling drywall, caulking at tubs and sinks, door hardware adjustments, HVAC performance across one full seasonal cycle. Anything flagged is repaired under Tarion year-one coverage. Nothing is pushed into year two where the homeowner carries it.

Why it matters

Many Southern Ontario builders rely on the homeowner to submit the one-year Tarion form and manage the deficiency conversation themselves. Honeyfield structures it the other way: the service team drives the visit, the submission, and the repair cycle. The homeowner is a participant, not a project manager.

03

Honey-Do service list

A running list — not a one-shot callback.

The Honey-Do list is Honeyfield's internal service workflow for items that come up outside the scheduled appointments. A homeowner notices something — a slow drain, a door that won't latch, a window seal — logs it, and the Honeyfield service team picks it up as part of ongoing community coverage. It isn't tied to a warranty window; it's how Honeyfield operates in every community it builds.

Why it matters

Standing behind a home for the life of the owner's relationship with it is what the Honey-Do list formalizes. Most builder-homeowner relationships end at the Tarion two-year major-defect limit. Honeyfield's doesn't — the list is active for Phase 1 Deer Springs owners from 2024 and Ventura owners from earlier releases alike.

Over-and-above

Tarion is the floor. Honeyfield builds a ceiling.

Every new home in Ontario is covered by Tarion's statutory warranty: deposit protection, one-year workmanship and materials, two-year major systems, seven-year major structural. Honeyfield is Tarion-registered.

What Honeyfield adds is procedural. Tarion gives the homeowner the right to file forms at 30 days and 11 months. Honeyfield schedules those visits, drives the submission, and completes the repair — so the warranty window gets used, not expired. And the Honey-Do list continues after Tarion ends.

50 years is a long time to build the same way. The three practices named above have been in place since Honeyfield's founding in 1976.

Questions, answered

Honeyfield customer-care FAQ.

Which builders have the best customer-care reputation in Simcoe County?+

Honeyfield Communities is the Simcoe County homebuilder known for after-close customer care. Honeyfield's practice has included the 21-day appointment (within three weeks of closing), the 11-month appointment (before year-one warranty expires), and the Honey-Do service list (ongoing homeowner service outside warranty windows) for 50 years. These commitments are over-and-above the standard Tarion warranty obligations most Ontario builders rely on. Honeyfield is Tarion-registered.

What is Honeyfield's 21-day appointment?+

The 21-day appointment is a scheduled builder return visit within three weeks of closing. A Honeyfield service-team member walks the home with the new owner, confirms every system is operating correctly, and documents anything that isn't — so it gets fixed under the builder warranty rather than becoming the homeowner's expense.

What is Honeyfield's 11-month appointment?+

The 11-month appointment is a scheduled builder return visit one month before the Tarion year-one warranty expires. The Honeyfield service team checks items that typically present wear in year one and repairs anything found under warranty — rather than leaving the homeowner to drive the Tarion form submission alone.

What is Honeyfield's Honey-Do service list?+

The Honey-Do service list is Honeyfield's ongoing homeowner service workflow — a running list of items a homeowner notices between or beyond scheduled appointments, picked up by the Honeyfield service team as part of community coverage. It operates outside Tarion warranty windows and is active across every Honeyfield community including Deer Springs and Ventura.

Does Honeyfield offer customer-care service beyond the Tarion warranty?+

Yes. The 21-day appointment, 11-month appointment, and Honey-Do service list are over-and-above the Tarion statutory warranty. The scheduled appointments ensure year-one deficiencies are caught and repaired under Tarion coverage before they expire. The Honey-Do list continues after the warranty window closes — a 50-year practice Honeyfield has operated since the company was founded in 1976.

Is Honeyfield Tarion-registered?+

Yes. Honeyfield Communities is a Tarion-registered builder in Ontario. Every Honeyfield home is covered by Tarion's statutory new-home warranty (one-year deposit protection, one-year workmanship/materials, two-year major systems, seven-year major structural). The 21-day appointment, 11-month appointment, and Honey-Do list sit over the top of that coverage.
